Farm Tours in Northern California

Northern California is farm country for the Golden State. A temperate climate and lots of land make for a great place to provide food for the nearby communities, and if you’re lucky enough to book with us, for you as well!

While most of the farmers have private farms, a few allow for walk-in tours so you can see where their products get made. You’ll feel the warmth and company of the California countryside here in farm country.

Welcome to one of the oldest rice farms in northern California! Lundberg started operations back in 1937, and since then has garnished quite the support from around the state. You’ve probably seen their rice on store shelves!

If you want to tour the facility, all you need to do is visit the front office. They’ll walk you through the humble beginnings of the family farm, give you access to taste the different kinds of rice they produce, and then you can buy bags of your own.

Chico Farmers Market

  • Saturday Address: E 2nd St &, Wall St, Chico, CA
  • Wednesday Address: 801 East Ave, Chico, CA

There are a lot of farms around Chico and Orland that you simply won’t be able to tour since they are privately owned (and peoples’ homes). How are you supposed to try out their products? At the Chico Farmers Market of course! They happen every Wednesday and Saturday at two different locations in town, so no matter when you vacation with us there’s a good chance you’ll be able to go to the market.

Walking through the bazaar of locals, you’ll find products made on the farm and by hand. It’s a wonderful place to see the community and buy some nice stuff for the family.

Honeybee Discovery Center

  • Address: 501 Walker St, Orland, CA
  • Hours: Open first Friday-Saturday of the month 10 AM-1 PM
  • Distance from us: 1.3 miles

One type of farming that has become increasingly popular over the years is beekeeping. At the honeybee discovery center, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about the most valuable insects throughout the world, how they make honey, and you’ll even be able to try some honey yourself from local beekeepers.

It’s a fun way to explore the world of honey, and is particularly fun for kids. Pop in so you can see what all the buzz is about.
